Twisted Aqua Cats Eye/Crystal Necklace

Materials:Tools:
3 x 55cm pieces of tigertailCrimping Pliers
1 parrot claspWire Cutters
80 6mm bicone glass crystal beads
94 4mm round cats eye beads
8 twisted flat oval beads
88 pieces of cats eye chip
28 5/0 seed beads
2 jump rings
1 leaf glass pendant
2 large tube crimps
2 small tube crimps
2 large holed filigree metal beads
note: quantities in indicated make a 'standard' necklace
(our necklace is approx 500mm). We used white round and chip cats eye,
aqua seed beads and glass crystals, white/aqua twisted flat
oval beads, an aqua silver leaf pendant and silver findings.

This necklace essentially has three separate strands - these strands are threaded up, and then half of the necklace is twisted around itself. The pendant is threaded on to the middle, and then the remaining part of the necklace is twisted together, and finished by adding the clasp.

Take the three strands of tigertail and thread them through a large crimp. Then thread through a jump ring. Thread back through the crimp, pull up tightly and squish down. Cut off any excess tigertail. Thread on one of the large holed filigree metal tubes.

Separate the three strands. Onto the first strand (Strand 1), thread on 80 6mm bicone glass crystals. To make sure everything doesn't fall off this strand whilst we are working on the other strands, thread a small crimp on the very end of the tigertail and squish down - this crimp will be cut off later, to complete the necklace, but in the mean-time, it will ensure your hard work isn't lost.

Next, take the second strand (Strand 2), and thread on 2 4mm round cats eye beads. Then start threading on the pattern:
- 10 4mm round cats eye beads
- a twisted flat oval bead

Repeat pattern another 7 times, so you have eight twisted flat oval beads on your strand. Finish off by threading on 12 4mm round cats eye beads. To make sure everything doesn't fall off this strand whilst we are working on the other strands, thread a small crimp on the very end of the tigertail and squish down - this crimp will be cut off later, to complete the necklace, but in the mean-time, it will ensure your hard work isn't lost.

Finally, take the third strand (Strand 3), and thread on:
- a 5/0 seed bead
- 3 pieces of cats eye chip

Repeat pattern another 13 times, so you have 14 5/0 seed beads on your strand. Thread on another 5 pieces of cats eye chip.

Twist up the first half of the necklace, and thread the pendant through to the middle. Thread another 5 pieces of cats eye chip onto Strand 3. Then thread on:
- a 5/0 seed bead
- 3 pieces of cats eye chip

Repeat pattern another 12 times, so you have 13 5/0 seed beads on your strand. Finish by threading on another 5/0 seed bead.

Twist the second half of the necklace around itself.

Bring the three strands together and thread on a large holed filigree metal tube bead, followed by a large crimp. Thread through a jump ring. Thread back through the crimp, pull up tightly and squish down. Cut off any excess tigertail.

Open up the jump ring on one end of the necklace. Thread on the parrot clasp, and close securely. Your necklace is now ready to wear!
