  • 5 x 70mm 26 gauge beading wire

TOOLS REQUIRED

  • Crimping Pliers
  • Wire Cutters
  • Twirly Wirlies

INSTRUCTIONS

Lots of twirling eye pins in this necklace - if the inside of your fingers are feeling a little tender after a few twirls, try putting bandaids on the inside of your fingers - this will stop the pliers from rubbing against your fingers.

Pick up an eye pin, and thread on:

  • a plain metal bead
  • a 6mm bicone glass crystal bead
  • a plain metal bead

Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the eye pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies. Put aside. Repeat process 7 times, so you have seven 6mm bicone crystal eye pin drops. These will be called drop A.

Pick up an eye pin, and thread on:

  • a small star bead cap
  • a twisted flat oval bead
  • a small star bead cap

Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the eye pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies. Put aside. Repeat process 12 times, so you have twelve twisted flat oval bead eye pin drops. These will be called drop B.

Pick up an eye pin, and thread on:

  • a small star bead cap
  • an 8mm round faceted glass crystal bead
  • a small star bead cap

Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the eye pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies. Put aside. Repeat process 5 times, so you have five 8mm round faceted crystal eye pin drops. These will be called drop C.

Pick up a head pin, and thread on:

  • a plain metal bead
  • a 6mm bicone glass crystal bead
  • a plain metal bead

Leaving a space of 10mm, cut the excess off the head pin. Twirl the end using your twirly wirlies. Put aside. Repeat process 5 times, so you have five 6mm bicone crystal head pin drops. These will be called drop D.

Cut a 70mm length of 26 gauge beading wire. Thread on a plain metal bead to the middle and twist around twice. Pass both ends of the wire through the centre of the metal rose. Pull up tightly and twist around twice. Separate the strands and twist one of the strands around your twirly wirlie pliers to make an eye. Repeat process with the other strand of wire so that you have the rose sitting in the middle of two eyes. Open a jump ring and thread it through one of the eyes. Close securely. Open another jump ring and thread through the other eye. Close securely. Repeat entire process 5 times, so you have five metal rose drops. These will be called drop E.

Now, you should have 24 eye pin drops (seven 6mm bicone glass crystal drops (drop A), twelve twisted flat oval bead drops (drop B) and five 8mm round faceted glass crystal drops (drop C)), 5 head pins drops (6mm bicone crystal head pin drops (drop D)) and 5 metal rose drops (drop E).

Open a jump ring, and whilst it is still open, thread on one drop B and one drop A. Close the jump ring securely.

Open up another jump ring, and whilst it is still open, thread on the other end of the drop A used in the previous step. Also thread on another (different) drop B.

Repeat process until you have a chain of - drop B - (jump ring) - drop A - (jump ring) - drop B - (jump ring) - drop A - (jump ring) - drop B - (jump ring) - drop A - (jump ring) - drop B -.

Open up one of the jump rings on one of the flower drops (drop E) and attach to the last drop B on your chain from the previous step. Close securely. Open up the other jump ring on the flower drop A and attach to a (separate) drop B.

Repeat process until you have a chain of (including the part of chain made previously): - drop B - (jump ring) - drop A - (jump ring) - drop B - (jump ring) - drop A - (jump ring) - drop B - (jump ring) - drop A - (jump ring) - drop B - [drop E] - drop B - [drop E] - drop B - [drop E] - drop B - [drop E] - drop B - [drop E] - drop B -.

Open up another jump ring, and whilst it is still open, attach to the last drop B on your chain from the previous step. Close securely. Open up another jump ring, and whilst it is still open, thread on the other end of the drop B just used. Also thread on another drop A. Close securely.

Repeat process until you have a chain of (including the part of chain made previously): - drop B - (jump ring) - drop A - (jump ring) - drop B - (jump ring) - drop A - (jump ring) - drop B - (jump ring) - drop A - (jump ring) - drop B - [drop E] - drop B - [drop E] - drop B - [drop E] - drop B - [drop E] - drop B - [drop E] - drop B - (jump ring) - drop A - (jump ring) - drop B - (jump ring) - drop A - (jump ring) - drop B - (jump ring) - drop A - (jump ring) - drop B - (jump ring) - .

Open up another jump ring and attach to the end of chain doesn't have a jump ring on it. Whilst it is still open, add the parrot clasp. Close securely.

Open up another jump ring and attach one drop D and one drop C. Close securely. Open another jump ring and attach to the other end of the drop C. Whilst it is still open, thread it behind the first of the metal roses (drop E) that is already in the chain. Close securely. Repeat process on the second metal rose, the fourth metal rose and the fifth metal rose.

Open up another jump ring and attach one drop D and one drop C. Close securely. Open another jump ring and attach to the other end of the drop C. Whilst it is still open, also thread on a drop A. Close securely. Open another jump ring and attach to the other end of the drop A. Whilst it is still open, thread it behind the third (middle) of the metal roses (drop E) that is already in the chain. Close securely. Your necklace is now ready to wear!
